Busy Weekend

Smiling for daddy, Cheese!
Annde and Brooklyn becoming good girl friends! I have been watching Annde 1 -2 times every other week to help her parents out. It has been good for B ot have a play date and they play well together so it helps me too.
I think these next two pics are so funny, when you ask them to smile this is what you get. Super Cheeese!
Cousin time, Friday evening Annde got picked up and cousins Lucy and Clara came to play for the weekend while Ricky and Stephanie enjoyed their anniversary. This is Saturday after Clara woke up from a nap, Brooklyn was trying to help her put her shoes on.

Lots to Celebrate in...Vegas!

At the Boise Airport getting ready to go to Vegas
OK mom I will smile for you.
First class ride to the Terminal, she was a hit at the airport. She made lots of people happy when they saw her.
The flight attendant was so nice and asked the gentleman to move that was in our row so we could have an extra seat for Brooklyn.
She was quite excited to look out the window and pretend to go night night..
until she got comfy and crashed out.
We got to Vegas Thursday night, the hotel was really nice off the strip but close enough that you could still see the lights and they had kitchens in them so we got to enjoy some of Nana's baked pasta.
Brooklyn enjoyed looking out the window at the lights with Grandpa
My girl, growing up way to fast.

Friday was Danny's birthday so we spent the day at the pool before and after nap time. Danny and I even got to take a little nap while B was sleeping and the family had yet to arrive. Danny and Cousin Joey chatting away at the pool
Brooklyn and Uncle Angelo chilling in the spa this was before we had a bit of a scare and B fell in the spa while uncle was putting her towel down. It only took a few seconds and she was gone and some lady at the pool yelled at us that she was under the water. Danny was in the pool across the way and saw her slip and go in so her was half way to her before we noticed. Uncle and Nana jumped in and pulled her out. You could see she was trying to pull her head up several times, but the bubbles pulled her back down. Thankfully we had swim lessons she held her breath, she was not coughing or crying when Uncle pulled her up. It was a scary time for all of us, but she handled it great. Thank you to the lady on the cell phone that said something and to Uncle for injuring yourself to rescue her and Nana for being backup. We had angels watching over B that day.

One of the times getting ready to go to the pool
Birthday boy with his Butterscotch pizza, so yummy!
B loves Uncle
and uncle loves her so much he let her put makeup on him. Your a great sport Uncle.
After dinner we put B down for the night and Mark, Cara, Lee and Lori had arrived so we went out to see how much Vegas has changed over the years. After a few hours of hotel hopping the boys decided to ride the Bull at a PBR bar near our hotel. Lee Marshal was the first to ride.

then Danny hold on babe your gonna

Fall!
Mark trying to stay on
then cousin Geno for the finale. It was a late and fun night spending time with everyone we had not seen in a while.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Jason Licitra - Congratulations Stephanie and Jason it was a great wedding sorry we almost missed the vows. Brooklyn woke up Saturday morning not feeling very well, running a fever and just wanted to lay around. She went swimming with her daddy and Uncle Mark then came back shivering and not wanting to eat, took a nap and woke up with 104 fever. Not good! We had to quickly get her ready and head to the wedding that we arrived 10 min late to and almost missed.

The next couple to get married ( at least we all hope ) Uncle Mark and Auntie Cara

Long time friends, Jerry, Danny, and Jason
Poor baby it was 101 outside and her body temp was 104 she was not to excited about that.
Sorry Nana no cute wedding pic this year the fever took over B's smiles.
Cousins and friends for life!
Motrin and Tylenol kicked in bringing her temp down to 102 so she ate a little and got some energy to play with cousin Carlisa.
and even tickle Uncle.

She even danced a little with Autnie Carmela and Uncle Ralph
the only smile I could get all night
then she crashed in Auntie's arms
Lee and Lori Marshall, it was great to see them and spend some time together we miss you guys.
Cousins Melissa and Kimmy with Joes fingers
Aw Jason I am so happy for you may you have a lifetime of happiness with Stephanie, now get that family started already Brooklyn needs a new cousin to play with. Thanks for letting us share your special day with you.
After a long evening and being up every few hours during the night this is how we spent Sunday. Brooklyn was on fire all day, pulling on her ear and crying in pain. It was horrible I cried every time I looked at her or thought about her. We tried the nurse and finding an urgent care her but no luck nothing open on the weekend other that the ER or a doctor that comes to your hotel for $400.  We decided to stick with what we were doing and wait til we got home.
Danny and I were stir crazy from being in the hotel all day so after we got B down we went for a walk to the Belagio to see the dancing water show. This was one of the crazies we saw while walking wish I got the front of him even his eyes were crazy looking. We walked around for a little while and by the time we got back Brooklyn was up crying. It was a rough few days, I started getting sick from being so tired.
Inside the Belagio they have some really pretty gardens that they decorate for each season.
They have some crazy water features as well, this is water that shoots up and over to the other side of the path. No it is not a tube I know I touched it. Amazing
Monday morning B was feeling a little better but not 100% she did great on the plane until SLC when her Motrin wore off and we had to check it since it was 4oz.'s. Her fever was back up and she moaned herself to sleep on the plane. It was really sad. I took her to the doctors on Wednesday her fever had gone away by Tuesday evening, but she still had a slight ear infection so another round of antibiotics, Azithromycin this time around for 5 more days. It seems to be working, but we have an appointment Thursday with an ENT to see about getting tubes. She has had 4 ear infections this year and since she is allergic to Penicillin/Amoxicillin they are worried that to much of the stronger medicine she will become immune to it and they will have no choice on what to give her let alone what it does to her liver. I am a little nervous about her going under anethesia, but if it will help her to not have to take so much medicine and I hope keep her from getting such high fevers I am all for it.
Overall it was nice to see family and friends, glad we got at least 1 day at the pool nad were able to see Jason and Stephanie get married,  but an exhausting weekend that we would like to do over again with a healthy child this time.

More about B

Brooklyn loves fruit, every time the fridge is open she opens the fruit drawer and pulls something out. She has learned how to peel clementines. This is how she starts it (notice she is by the trash can since that is where mommy and daddy stand when they peel them)
She got it started now peels the rest with her fingers and when done runs over to her drawer and pulls out a bowl to put it in so she can eat it.
Brooklyn also likes to help clean. (her daddy says she is a clean freak like her mother, I don't think that is such a bad thing) She was trying to sweep up her rice mess all over the floor. When she spills something she knows where the towels are and says, "Uh Oh, I wipe"
She loves to read "a boook" she always says. I ordered these little books from Dani's school magazine drive and they have been great. They are small, short stories with no advertisements. She loves to carry them around and read them.
Cheeese!
Brooklyn also loves to swing or how she says it "wing".

She used to be afraid of the slides by herself, then a few weeks ago I took her to the park near our house and she just went right up the stairs and started going up and down the slides saying "Wee, Wee."
Even the bigger twisty slide, I was so excited for her. She is growing up. We had a great morning at the park and she was happy all morning. And as always was happy to go take a nap then she woke up...
and cried for over 3 hours hitting her head on the wall not letting us hold her, tried sitting in the bathroom with steam until finally calling the doctor and deciding to take her in. The picture above is what she looked like on our way to the doctor. Of course we got to the Dr's after hour care and she perked up so we thought maybe she is alright and we should leave. The nurse said we have magic doors but stay anyways and good thing we did she had an ear infection. Poor thing 10 days of Omnicef to the rescue.
