Camping at Red Fish Lake

For Father's Day we went camping with friends for the weekend. They go every summer and we got to tag along as well. We have been looking forward to this for a few months, since it had been about 2 years since we had been camping. It was Brooklyn's first camping trip and our first as parents. The weather was not so great it rained off and on the entire weekend. It got down in the 30's at night so it was a little hard to try and keep B warm at night and not get her all tangled in the blankets. The first night was rough, then our air mattress was no good so we had a hard time sleeping on the packed dirt, but the company and scenery made it all worth it. Even though it rained we were still able to go fishing, take walks, bike ride, play games and have great dutch oven cooking!

We stopped off the highway to stretch and feed Brooklyn.

Some scenery on the way to Stanley, so beautiful and only 3 hours away!

The boys playing Cribbage - to much math for me, but everyone had fun playing it.

The only picture I could get of both Garrett and Brooklyn looking up. Brooklyn was more interested in the toys and Garrett was always happy to smile for the camera.

Danny took B on a bike ride and took these pictures as a surprise for me. She wasn't to sure of the feel of the sand in her hands, but took cute pictures.

Marin enjoying the sun breaking through for 2 minutes.

The first lake we attempted to go fishing at - Lake Pettit. No one was on the Lake it was so peaceful and beautiful. We could see the fish jumping, but could not cast far enough.

Brooklyn and Daddy fishing at Stanley Lake. Danny was hoping she was going to be his good luck charm, no such luck!

Matt and Sara the experienced fishermen, they were nice enough to let us tag along. After we left they went to a pond and caught lots of Trout, guess we were bad luck!

Trying to keep B warm at night. Thank you Peggy for the hat that goes under the beanie it was great to keep her head extra warm during the day and the only thing she could not pull off her head at night.

Sara, B, Perry and Angie keeping warm by the fire.

Father's Day morning, such a proud Daddy

Our drive home, so beautiful we would like to go back later this summer when it is warmer. So much beautiful scenery to enjoy!

More summer fun

Play Date with the neighbors girls (they are all within a few weeks of each other), we missed our buddy Garrett

Sean Chitwood and his girlfriend Amber dropped by for a visit on the way to Seattle. Next time stay longer so we can go play!

I did not do a photo shoot this month like I wanted to for Brooklyn turning 6 months so here are are a few random pics taken that will work. Perhaps we will do one for 7 months instead?

ROOARRR!

Going on a bike ride with B and G, they started out excited then ....

passed out onto each other. It was quite cute, we went on about an hour bike ride with Matt and Marin it was a good time.

Eagle Fun Days

Every year each city around us has a traveling carnival they celebrate different things in there city, this year we were around to go to Eagle Fun days. It was a warm, yet rainy day. We went to the parade, farmers market, car show, walked by the carnival rides and went to lunch. We did a lot of walking and had a great day together.
One of the floats in the parade - local dentists dressed as mad scientists rocking out with there band. Good Times!

WATER FIGHT! Tradition is a water fight by the people in parade and the people standing on the street it was quite funny watching everyone get so into it. By the end everyone that wanted to were drenched. People came prepared in bathing suits, with water guns, some even had a trailer with huge barrels of water that pumped water to hoses so they had continuous flow to get the people in the floats. Could you image if this had been in LA what would have happened to the innocent water fight? When we go to events like this that people can have a good time and it not get out of hand makes us happy to be living here.
This poor military guy had no chance, he was soaked and wasn't even armed to fight back.
See the spray just a little example of the craziness!
This is for you Todd, they were featured in the local car show. (Just waiting for you to bring yours, they need one with a 3rd seat) :)
At the end of the day Brooklyn was wore out she didn't even wake up to be transferred to her carseat.

Let the Summer Fun Begin!

June is here already and this summer is going to be a crazy one for us. We started the summer out by going to the Annual Lake Lowell Day with friends. The weekend started out cold and rainy, but that day was perfect the sun came out and the sky was nice and blue.
B with Daddy sporting the cool shades
B's first time in the water, it was cold but she did not seem to mind
Just some Random pictures at home
Danny and Brooklyn playing in the bathroom mirror
Brooklyn trying to figure out how to get the puffs in her mouth
B's new way of sleeping, she is all over the crib at night and trying to keep her on her back is not possible anymore. She starts out on her back, then her side, then her belly. Our crazy little sleeper.

Gift for Danny!

For several years Danny has asked me to make him a quilt out of his old racing/work shirts so we boxed them up kept adding to them and packed it everywhere we moved. Finally when my parents came to visit I gave the shirts to them to take home and as a surprise to Danny when I went to California the quilt was made. Since this was a project we had never done before it was an experiment. Thanks to help from Ursula (she made one for Randy first) we learned how to cut it out and lay it out. Then came my mom and Melinda to help put it together. It was a group effort. This could not have been done any other way. We spent all week working on it and when I left my mom was finishing the quilting and binding. There are things that we would probably do differently now that it is done, but I think it turned out great and so does Danny! I was going to wait until Father's Day, bit I was to excited! Thanks so much mom for all your hard work this would not have been completed without you.
Danny was so excited he sent out a picture text message to his friends and posted it on his facebook. Glad the hard work paid off.

Hannah has a recital and Clara turns 1

So as you can tell from all the posts below it has been a while since I have updated the blog so sorry you get it all at once. I get on a roll and have to finish or I won't do it at all. We have had a busy week since returning from California. Doctors visit for B, Hannah's dance recital, a day off and Clara's 1st Birthday! The pictures are out of order again, sorry.
Can't believe she is 1 already! She just woke up form a nap so she was a little dazed at first.

Lucy, "just sitting" as she told me!

Grandma Etta and B

Clara deciding if she likes the cake and if it is OK to just put her hands in it.

Trying to walk with her new doll stroller.

Our pretty Ballerina Hannah, she is in the middle in front of the sailor boy next to the older ballerina.

Hannah is a great dancer, but tends to get shy so when she danced a duet with her teacher it brought tears to my eyes to see that she was brave and danced for everyone.

Brooklyn and Clara checking each other out and sharing toys while we waited for the show to begin!
OK, consider yourself updated that is all in the crazy life of the Adair family tell next time.
