Side Note

I forgot to add that the doctor had Brooklyn on her tummy examining her and she was holding her head up high showing the doctor hows strong she was and then she rolled over. Total fluke that it was with the doctor and she probably won't do that again for a while, but we laughed it was like she was showing off.

My baby is 2 months!

This day seemed so far away and here it is. Brooklyn Rose is 2 months old. She had here 2 month check up today and got to experience 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination. This was a bit traumatizing for us all. Danny held her arms and I sat and watched the nurse stick those huge needles deep in he thigh muscles. Ouch! She turned deep red and held her breath. It was so sad. then she screamed. I took her and tried to nurse her to calm her down, she just kept whimpering and trying to catch her breath. It was heartbreaking. I just wanted to hold her and take the pain away. Besides that traumatic part of the visit the first half was good, she is in the 25% in height and weight. She weighed in at 9lbs 13ozs and was 22 3/4 in long. So I guess she is our skinny girl, thats ok she is darn cute! She slept on the way home adn we kept her in the carseat until she woke up about 4 hours later( which was much needed since she slept all of 1 hour the day before). She was quite mad when she woke up, gave her some Tylenol and feed her. I think she doesn't feel very good, but has managed to give us a few smiles. So glad that is over.

Now we are getting packed and ready to head to SUNNY,WARM California for a long weekend. So excited to see the family and celebrate Randy graduating and becoming an official Firefighter. It has been a long time coming and we are extremely proud of him. Brooklyn is in for a treat meeting all her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Great Grandparents and friends.

Mom needs sleep!

Not a whole lot has happened lately, Brooklyn has blessed me with sleeping longer periods at night usually around 5 hours. Then back to 3 hours. It is amazing how nice it is to get that 5 hour stretch, really helps with my patience. However she has decided that she doesn't need to nap during the day. Ugh! She will sleep for a half hour here and there and especially well if you are holding her. The best way to get her to sleep during the day is to put her in her car seat and go for a drive. Saturday and Monday it was pretty much Brooklyn and I hanging out. It was the first time with just us being alone all day together. Danny was getting his hunting license one day and went ice fishing the other day. (FYI- it was -1 when they went fishing, way to cold for comfort and he caught zero fish, but he had fun!) It was good for us all to have a break from each other, except now Brooklyn wants me all the time and cries when she is with Daddy. As much as it makes you feel like a good mom, it is frustrating to not have two free hands very often. As I am posting this blog she is on my lap nursing, good times! Well below are a few pictures of the past few weeks.

You asked for it!

I know it has been a while since I have blogged and I have been asked for updated pictures of Brooklyn so here they are. Ask and you shall receieve. As for the rest of you bloggers that have not updated what are you waiting for! Things have been good with us, we have been busy with family visiting. Brooklyn is doing good she is growing and changing everyday. It is fun to watch her grow and still amazing to look at her and think she is ours. She has been running a low grade fever and has been a little congested the past few days, so she has been having a hard time sleeping, that has worn on us a little. Today I was holding her shortly after she ate and I was talking to her when I got close to her face and she spit up almost in my mouth and all over me, it was quite gross, but funny. Gotta love babies. Anyways her are updated pictures of the last few weeks. Enjoy!
Claudia made Brooklyn, Nana and I matching shirts and we wore them on Christmas Eve, but did not take a picture so I thought I would take a picture of Brooklyn in the cute shirt since really that is what everyone would rather see! So Cute

Nana and Grandpa Karl, think this was the second time Karl held her, its all about baby steps!
