Sun and Fun with Nana

Nana came to visit for a long weekend. It is always fun to have her here and Brooklyn loves the attention. Of course we get spoiled when she comes always has a treat or two for us and Danny takes a little break away from work so we can play. It was one of the warmest weekends we had had in a long time so we were more than happy to spend some time outdoors.
Testing out the slides in our neighborhood playground.
It took B a while to go through the tunnel she wasn't to sure about it, but once she went she was hooked. I think the playground will be a great place for us to play once it gets a little warmer.
"What mom I'm not doing anything!" Thanks Auntie Jen for the super cute outfit and shoes you always know how to spoil B! Thank you Aunt Claudia for the new flower clippie it came at the perfect time I seem to be using it often.
B's latest CHEESEEEE face. Nurse Brooklyn playing dress up with one of the new outfits from Aunt Claudia and Cousin Paige, thank you Paige for growing up and passing down your play clothes. These will be a hit with the cousins.
We went to Hyde Park for a little hike with Nana. We got to try out the new hiking pack passed down from cousin Eliza and Aunt Cherlyn - thank you it was great and saved Danny's back. Our little explorer has to check everything out no matter where we go.
The Girls taking in the sun and a good little hike. One of my favorite pictures of Danny jumping with B, it was so funny and she loved it of course. As you might be able to tell in some of the pics and by the jumping action Danny has been working out at least 3 days a week and has lost over 30lbs. HOOORAY!! The last time we did this hike he had to stop and take breaks, this time he wanted to just keep going. It was B that had had enough and wanted a nap and some lunch.
After lunch, she is such a daddy's little girl! Yes she is wearing a necklace, she loves to wear her dress up necklaces, put things in her hair and the latest has been hats. Our little girly girl!

It's Growing!

Brooklyn's hair has finally been growing it is at the crazy stage where some pieces are longer than others and some places have lots of hair versus some places have none. She has a little mullet going on in the back of her hair that I debate cutting off, but when she gets tired she twirls it in her fingers so it curls. Here are a few pics of her growing hair and my attempt to do something with it besides putting a headband on her head. Gotta love the fountain on top, just to give you the true visual!

Kids Fair 2010

The end of February Brooklyn and I met Garrett and Marin at the Idaho Kids Fair. We didn't know really what to expect so it was a little of an adventure. The place was busy tons of kids everywhere, lots of vendors, entertainment, petting zoo, and bounce houses. We stayed for about 2 hours then went to lunch. I think maybe next year when they can bounce by themselves they will enjoy it more. Brooklyn loves to see animals but never wants them to come near her.

Little Miss Independent

Our little Brooklyn Rose is getting so big and I don't mean just her belly! It seems like overnight she starts learning more and understanding more. She is SO independent she wants to do everything herself we are so in for it when she becomes a teenager.

Lately if I do something she does not like, she tries to tell me in her own language and stern voice, it is quite comical for now. She loves to feed herself, go to swim and practice bubbles and kicking in the tub, she is our little cuddle bug always willing to give kisses and hugs(which makes it hard to stay mad), likes to hold a pen and scribble on paper, loves to tease her mommy by touching her computer keyboard while shaking her head no, thinks it is funny when we get stern with her and put her in time out, starting to play dress up with whatever she can put on her head or around her neck and loves her stuffed puppy (Buttercup) and Monkey (Sparky) that her Uncle Mark gave her. Her few favorite words are da da, dog, and uh oh, this, that, light, and side (outside). She seems to have forgotten momma unless she is upset. She loves to be around people especially kids, loves to see dogs but is scared when they get near her, imitate you laughing, coughing and eats up attention which is a good thing because she gets a lot of it everywhere we go.

This week if we tell her its time to eat she will walk to the kitchen and go to the refrigerator to get her drink and go to her high chair. Tonight when I told her it was time for bed she gave her daddy kisses and walked down the hall making sure I followed her got a book to read, said our prayers, sang a song and was happy to snuggle with her puppy and go to bed. When we sing songs she hums along it is so dang cute.

Also new this week she decided she was done nursing after she bite me twice, yes OUCH! OK I got the hint, let go mommy and put me to bed. I am proud of myself for lasting almost 15 months considering it took me 2 months to get comfortable. I tried to give her cows milk at 12 months, but she was not interested unless it was daddy's chocolate protein shakes. Now she drinks milk a little better only in the morning and with a little Ovaltine ( Pediatrician Recommend this ). I guess my baby is officially growing up and not needing me as much.

Oh the picture above was after bath time she did not want to take her towel off even after I chased her down to get dressed. She would put it over her head to where she was not able to see and would run into the wall and get back up and do it again, crazy but we love her.

Well just a little update on our crazy lovable B.

Daddy time

Monday afternoon Danny took Brooklyn to the park in our subdivision, she had been cranky in the morning and needed to get out.
It is so much more fun to take her to the park now that she can walk around and actually play.
She loves to be outside especially with her daddy. I ran some errands and came back to her sitting on his lap helping move the bronco on the side of the house, she had a big smile on her face. I love the bond that they have.
