Baby Names?

So Danny and I have been struggling with a name for our baby girl. We have a few in mind, but none that we are totally excited about. Part of me thinks when she comes we will look at her and give her a name then, but it does not hurt to get a little feedback from others.

So here is a list of some possible names, Vote below!

Baby Update

Sorry this is a little long, but we had a busy day, lots to update about.

We got the opportunity to babysit baby Garrett (our friends from next door) for a few hours while his mom had a meeting for work. It was good for us to get used to an infant. Poor little guy had his shots on Monday, so he was not really feeling well. It will be interesting to see how things go with Danny working from home, he has a hard time ignoring a crying baby, he wanted to jump in and hold him and try to calm him down then after a little while he would say oh I have to get back to work. It was sweet, but funny since I never asked for him to help. Overall Garrett slept for a little while and we had a good morning.

Here is the latest baby update for all that are curious. We had a doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon. I am 33 weeks and 4 days, crazy! I have not gained any weight since last visit. That is a good thing since at the last visit the NP told me that I should probably not have anymore ice cream or fun stuff since it will be that much harder to get off after the baby. I have gained a total of 28lbs. I was not excited when she told me that, but I think either way I will have to do some serious working out to get the weight off that I gained prior to the baby and during the baby, plus it's the holidays coming up how am I not supposed to have some sweets.

Anyways, when we got their it was quiet in the office they got me right in and I was leaving my lovely urine sample when the doctor got paged to deliver a baby. They asked me if I wanted to wait (crazy talk as if she would be back in 10 minutes or something) or see another NP. I opted for the NP. My weight was good, my belly measurements good, Blood pressure good, and the baby's heart rate was strong about 140-150 beats per minute. We have seen several different NP, Ultrasound Tech's and Dr's at this office and everyone has been so nice and informative. It is comforting to know that they take their time to answer any questions. The baby should be about 4-4.5 lbs that is just an estimate based on my measurements.

Later that evening we took a breastfeeding class, they wanted spouses to go so Danny was a trooper and came along. I screwed up though and didn't read the paper before we left and thought the class was where the last class was in Downtown Boise near the hospital(about 20 min from the house) we get there right at 6:30 walk around and someone tells us it is in Meridian (5 min from our house). I felt really bad especially since Danny was not excited about going in the first place. I told him we should just go home, but after about 10 minutes of silence he puts his hand on my knee and says "it's OK babe, we will just be a little late." When we finally figured out where to go, we hadn't missed much. We are both not sure why he needed to be there, but it was probably a good thing to keep me there. After watching a video I kinda freaked out and said maybe this is not for me. The whole birthing, nursing thing is not so pretty. It is amazing what your body has to go through. I will try nursing and the class was helpful and informative, but I think I will be a little weirded out at first. Good thing all the lactation help you need is all FREE and nearby!

As for my wonderful husband, I am so lucky that he is so supportive and has a flexible schedule to be able to come to all my appointments and attend all the crazy classes I sign us up for. He is excited to be a dad and it will be fun to see him hold his little girl for the first time. I have been very lucky this past year, the move has made it easier for us to be able to do all these things together and I am truly grateful for that.

Buddy Walk 2008

This was the view of the mountains as we were driving to downtown from the Friday night snow.

We had to dig out our winter clothes, but braved the cold (about 30 degrees) and went to the Buddy Walk (The National Down Syndrome Fundraiser) to walk for Team Ansley. Last year when we came to visit we were able to participate, so we have decided to make it an annual thing. Ansley is my brother Richards neighbors little girl. It is a quick walk form the Capitol building to Ann Morrison park where they have a pizza lunch and games and entertainment. It is fun to participate especially to bring your kids and make it a family day. I enjoy participating and donating to different causes and hope to be able to participate this next year in more events.

Lucy mini ET in her big t-shirt, she was a hit the photographers enjoyed her.
We made it to the Park, time for food and fun
She was shy all morning now she is happy Hannah must be because of the bounce house!
Lucy was having a great time even though she kept falling on her face from all the bouncers
Go Hannah

Welcome Fall - NO Winter?

View from the backyard

This last week has been cooling down, which has been a nice change. I went to the mall on Friday afternoon to get a some Christmas shopping done. I was leaving and saw that it looked like it was pouring rain outside, but noticed people walking in had snowflakes on their shirts. Crazy! The news said it would snow, but we were thinking in the mountains. Hopefully this does not mean we are having an early winter this year. It lasted for a few hours, but mostly wet nothing that really stuck to the ground. I guess it snowed to help me get in the spirit of my early Christmas shopping, which by the way is almost done and what I do have is wrapped and ready to be sent out. It feels great to not have to worry about that and enjoy our little one when she comes.
